The part of the city of Split called Split 3, a city mega-project from the late 1960s, is an area of about 340 hectares in the eastern part of what used to be the city outskirts. It is surrounded by the St. Manda and Blatine residential estates to the east, Vukovarska Street (former Balkanska Street) and its extension to the north, the Lovrinac cemetery, Žnjan and Dragovode areas to the west, and finally, the sea to the south. The term ‘Split 3’ originates from the former administrative name of that part of the city – the so-called third city district.
